Riposo Overlay No. 1

For years, I've kept a set of transparent colors in reserve: Bronze, Camel, Lagoon among them. Applying them over an opaque interior layer is where they finally get revealed. What emerges isn't visible in the heat of the work. It only reveals itself once the piece reaches room temperature. Overlay No. 1 gives each color the room it needs to breathe. Grand in scale, grand in what it reveals.
